The part of this migration that saddens me is that the young have lost interfest in tbeir history. I believ e that we must know where we are from in order to know where we are going. The trick is how to entice history to interest our young? Creative Geeks step up to the plate! Before it's all forgotten.

Great article, beautifully written. I was thinking though about the definition of a geek - go back 25 years and only geeks used technology, and certainly only geeks used new technology. Nowadays that's simply not true - the latest iPhone is a fashion accessory and people who buy them as such still use a lot of the functionality. Perhaps it's a depth issue - geeks see under the technology and use the underlying features, or see the second order benefits. Or maybe it's a network issue - geeks see the possibilities in networking different technologies and concepts - using mobile tech to control a R/C helicopter box.

Or maybe I'm being too clever - maybe a geek is someone who is at their happiest when they're tweeting about upgrading the firmware in their home media centre. I think I feel an article coming on...
